Searching for labels in Team Foundation Server - TFS
In my new work I started to dealing with TFS Version Control programming in c#, for some problems you could use the microsoft library, for others you have to use the TFS Command Line Utility both in code.
Ok, some of you could ask me what is this Team Foundation Server?
It's the server storage for the version control of the Team Foundation Suite of Microsoft. The Version Control here is a combo, composed by Server (TFS) and (TFVSC).
While Team Foundation Version Control is equivalent to Source Safe, provided by Microsoft too there are other equivalents like Tortoise Subversion, a excelent alternative for those with no money to expend in the sooooooooo expensive Microsoft set of solutions.
But in the case of Tortoise you still need a server to host your files, for example assembla.
Ok enough of this small talk! got it?
In a certain point of the tool I was developing appeared a need to query the server for all the labels of a specific folder. You could use it to get files labels too.
So let's go to method that solved the problem =D.

Student to Business - Microsoft Innovation Center
Olá pessoal,
Essa é específica para o Brasil. Esse mês terminam as inscrições para o S2B, programa da Microsoft que visa inserir os alunos de fim de ensino médio e de início de área tecnologica na faculdade nas tecnologias da Microsoft para Desenvolvimento e Infra-Estrutura.
As aulas são muito boas e vale a pena para aqueles que estão em dúvida entre sistema da informação e ciência da computação e para os demais hobbistas ^^.
Ah legal dizer que quem estiver interessado em trabalhar para o Centro de Inovação do Centro Universitário Senac pode passar na Ala C da faculdade e conversar com o pessoal, eu trabalhei lá e inclusive dei aula no S2B, foi muito bom...

The search for the right date time format
I was working at this thursday in a friend's project, at my job, and my boss asked us if there was any format of data that Oracle and SQL Server accept at their database date field.
After a little search we find nothing and tought about ask a common friend of us, that really knows a lot of DB, but he didn't remind of anything that we could use, so we decided to ask for it from the DB Admin at my job, and bingo he found something....
He discovered that variations of the form dd-MMM-yyyy should work fine in both applications, that saved us =D....
Some samples:
02-feb-98, 02-FEB-1998, 02-Feb-1998.
Why this saved us? Because it prevent us from code a lot in the project to distinct the databases and do the convert of entry data for each single database application that our application connects to, really a pain in the ass XD....
Hope this little tip could save some of mine readers too =D.

Google it but try to Bing it too...
What if you put together too great solutions to make one before the other two had been launched?
Ok we already knows that Microsoft loves to do things almost like that, without any offense, I like Microsoft, but they get this Yahoo Alpha a new search engine from Yahoo that try to understand exactly what any of us is searching and put that on screen in a new fashion way, and this Google the number ONE search engine in the world, don't need to mention that I like Google too =D, put Live Search in the middle and generate this BING, the new Microsoft search engine.
First of everything the project codename was "Kumo" and BING is now the official name, they planned to release it tomorrow (june 3rd, 2009), but the beta is up and running so go on and test it.
All the features that they present are not there yet, see a preview bellow to understand, but it's working and what gives me creeps is that it REALLY WORKS GREAT, at least until now rs =D.
Another remarkable thing is that BING returns are a lot like Google ones, not only the links but the look too (XEROX MACHINE ¬¬)...
Oh now I want to see WHO is gonna win this fight, because the thing is getting really hot my friends, and there are no second places or they exists but the world don't see them.

WOW....Project Natal - Milo
Now this is really amazing, I was searching for something about Project Natal for Xbox360 and I discover two things from this Microsoft project.
The first is the Project called Lionhead Milo and brings to reality the dream of thounsands of us that works with tecnology, the interaction between men and machine. Man I got stunned when I saw the video bellow, I will not say anything about Milo, just click bellow and see for yourself.
Of course that there is a lot of things behind this project and I could only imagine what are the limits, the programming, research and AI (artificial intelligence) in it.
I hope that I can get there, work with that, in any way that it's possible to.
But to show all of you other interesting thing, see the video of the second thing that is Project Natal main project, just a showcase but still pretty beautiful.
Oh and before you see let me explain my thoughts, Microsoft is fighting against Nintendo with all weapons, and they decided to put an X in this fight(ha bad joke :P), they are developing a new gadget to plug into your Xbox360 and read a persons body, including movements and facial recognition to reflect directly, YES DIRECTLY, in games. Imagine that you're playing some tennis game, in Wii (that I still love very much) you use your wiimote to swing and hit the ball, in Xbox360 with Project Natal you only need to swing your hand in the desired direction, WOW really amazing don't ya think?
That is the X for Microsoft to hit Nintendo where it hurts, I hope that Nintendo survives, because I like both. But it seems that Microsoft will have the graphics and the interaction with this project, please Nintendo do something too.

PopFly and My first game.....
Recentemente eu descobri o site da Microsoft o PopFly, criador de websites e games no estilo Flash usando Silverlight.
E nessa descoberta resolvi botar minha vontade de produzir games pra funcionar e o resultado foi esse:
Por favor avaliem e postem seus comentários, é importante pra mim ^^, espero que vocês gostem e para quem tem vontade comece a produzir jogos também.
Próximo post farei um tutorial básico de como produzir uns joguinhos, links que podem ajudar e uns macetes que eu descobri apanhando.

Google Search masters 2008
Demorei mas estou postando novamente :P.....e trazendo feeds diretos sobre o evento que ocorreu aqui em São Paulo mês passado. O Google Search Masters tinha tudo pra ser o evento do ano em tecnologia no entanto não atingiu tudo que eu esperava, anunciado como um evento técnico onde seriam apresentadas novas tecnologias e plataformas usadas pelo Google foi realizado com um evento para power users, ou seja, administradores de sistemas e web masters que só utilizam ferramentas prontas para buscas e outros afins.
Bom ai você me pergunta duas coisas: o que eu esperava e que raios tem demais em mostrar as ferramentas e produtos e como utilizá-los.
Bom resposta para a primeira pergunta: eu esperava que ficassemos por dentro das tecnologias, sim isso mesmo código, informações sobre programação, como integrar as ferramentas via código em nossos sites e programas e o que podemos acrescentar à elas.
Resposta da segunda pergunta: não há nada de errado em apresentar isso mas foi um evento muito comercial e evangelista bem cara da Microsoft, me desculpem eu gosto de ambas mas odeio eventos comerciais.
Retirando esses fatos foi tudo bem divertido e interessante, foram algumas horas de boas risadas com o pessoal tentando, quando eu digo tentando é porque a coisa estava feia, tentando falar inglês e a maioria desistia e pedia pro apresentador usar o fone para tradução. Imaginem que a coisa foi tão feia que em alguns momentos a tradutora se enrolou, nem ela conseguia entender as perguntas para traduzir em português, ah me desculpem a franquesa mas não sabe não fale, teste com amigos é menos mico do que falar para umas 300 pessoas......
O mais engraçado foi ter algumas fotos minhas publicadas no picasa pela equipe do Google eeeeeeeeeeee manheeeeeeeeeeeeee to no Google ^^..... tem uma foto abaixo:
Legenda: Eu no fundo, no meio o Koji e mais na frente o marcelo, todos colegas de faculdade.....
Ah sim claro não podia esquecer de comentar das Google Dolls, eu que dei esse nome :P uma mais bonita que a outra, só elas já valem esse evento e um possível próximo evento. Procurem por elas, estão em todos os eventos do Google ^^......

Another blog to find knowledge......
I had a training this week with David Yack in my University about Framework 3.5 and some tricks with ASP.NET, Ajax and a lot of things more and I thought that could be interesting putting some good guy blog link in my blog ^-^. Just Java 2008
Tech Ed, Search Masters, este mês de setembro está lotado de grandes eventos e temos mais um de 10 à 12 o Just Java, que acontece no Centro Universitário Senac, onde eu estudo ^-^!
Parece que a série de palestras será muito interessante este ano, mas teremos pouco assunto sobre mobile, no qual a linguagem Java é muito forte atualmente, infelizmente......
Aconselho o evento também, para quem puder pois infelizmente só não é mais caro que o Tech Ed.....

TechEd 2008 Brasil
Opa opa Microsoft olhando para o Brasil novamente!
Recebi no meu email esses dias um aviso sobre o TechEd acontecer aqui em São Paulo pertinho de casa, fiquei tão feliz com a notícia que fui logo me inscrever, quando estava terminando a inscrição surgiu uma etapa para pagamento, eu pensei "ah normal ser pago o evento vamos ver o preço", absurdos 599 reais isso se você comprar no lançamento depois aumenta na sequência para 699 e depois 799, cara vou comprar uma licença do Windows com essa grana porque vale mais a pena não ??!!!
É nem desconto para estudantes dessa vez......aparentemente eles não aprendem nada sobre como instigar o público a fazer parte do "ecossistema" Microsoft, infelizmente para nós pobres estudantes. Bom fazer o que, espero que o evento seja muito bom e que o pessoal que vai aproveite bastante.
Se você tem grana e usufrui de ferramentas Microsoft é uma boa idéia fazer parte desse acontecimento.

OOXML torna-se padrão iso!
Boas vindas ou nem tantas ao mais novo padrão ISO, o Office Open Xml, padrão Microsoft® para criação de apresentações, documentos e planilhas foi aprovado no dia 1 de abril com 75% dos votos e não é mentira rsrsrsrsrs, agora o ODF, padrão utilizado no OpenOffice, possui um equivalente, talvez concorrente e quem sabe parceiro de quarto. Aguardem por tutoriais de programação em C# e dicas sobre o padrão. Quer ele seja bem recebido pela comunidade quer não o OOXML agora tornou-se realidade e quem sabe podemos construir algo de interessante ao invés de somente criticar o ocorrido.
